//Curious Phenomena//
Science brings us closer to understanding the fundamentals of the world and it is an ongoing endeavour to discover how everything works. Breaking these concepts down can be difficult and theoretical science has seen countless directions, some were great contributors to current understanding while others failed to see validation in peer reviews. The world of theoretical physics is amazing as it intends to unravel the workings of natural phenomena through derived mathematics including models, systems and more. It’s a deep dive into the workings of the world and there is much to be understood as it dives deeper into the foundations of everything in this world, a subject that revolves around interaction of energy and matter. I am not a professional physicists but I do like to read through various theoretical science journals and from time to time, a headline or two will catch my attention.
//Another Theory Among Many//
Theoretical physics has its roots engraved in the passages of time, dating back thousands of years ago. The abstract yet mathematical nature makes this branch of physics a truly riveting part of the scientific world where many theories are born, some with success, and others without traction. This concept of explaining the fundamental building blocks of the world and beyond started during ancient Greece. Throughout civilization, an exploration of the universe’s mysteries has manifested time and time again, sometimes yielding new tangents that give birth to new entirely new inventions. In the age of technology, some scientists are keen on pushing current technology and theories to discover the fundamental theory of physics. British American computer scientists and physicist, Stephen Wolfram is an example of exploring theoretical science with modern technology.
//Wolfram Physics Project//
The Wolfram Physics Project is the next chapter of the scientist’s endeavours that seeks to discover the laws of physics through substitution systems. There are many references to Wolfram’s previous works such as cellular automata and multi-paradigm computational language, wolfram language. It remains to be seen if this approach will develop into a major contributor of theoretical physics. While criticism has been given due to a non-peer reviewed approach, sometimes scientists need to follow their own path and seek validation and stand up to scrutiny later. It will be interesting to see if this approach will reveal anything new in the vast field of foundational understanding. I’ll be spending a little more time in the coming days to read through various updates and also dipping into previously established theories.
