How to form a mindset
The mind is a very powerful magnet. Whatever our mindset tells us is what we attract, whether we realize it or not! If you have confidence that, "Life is very hard, and I have to struggle just to live a mediocre life," for example, you do not need to be aware of that belief to experience the struggle in your life. In fact, if you want to see what your mindset really is, you just have to look at your life and your results. The results we get in accordance with what we believe.
We can trust anything we want to believe. And we can find plenty of evidence to support whatever belief or mindset we choose, so we can also choose the beliefs that strengthen us and move us forward. We begin to succeed when we understand that we have a choice, because, at that time, we can begin to choose the beliefs that lead us to where we want to go. William James, the father of modern psychology, said, "Rest assured that your life is valuable, then your beliefs will create the facts."
To succeed, you need to understand your mindset. You have to take it to the conscious level, take good care of it, and see if there's anything you want to change. Otherwise, your hidden beliefs will control you. If you do not know your mindset, you can not do anything to it. If you want to change your results, you have to change your mindset.
The shift of mindset means changing from one mindset to another. In Science of Success, this means shifting from one mindset that blocks success to a way of thinking that drives and attracts success.
When shifting your mindset, you switch to a new game and a new set of rules. As your game and rules change, your whole world begins to change. You start out different energies, so you attract different kinds of people and situations into your life. As you transform your thinking, you transform your world. Oliver Wendell Holmes once said, "The human mind stretched to a new idea never returns to its original dimension."
Many people say they want to change their lives. They attend motivational speaker talks or make New Year appointments and get very excited by all the changes they see for themselves. Or they go to a seminar or read a book and see that they want to start doing things differently. They may even make some changes in the first few weeks. But then their energy seems to be diminishing. Their enthusiasm slumped. Before you know it, they get back into their old routine. When this happens, the cause is that they try to manipulate the consequences of their lives, rather than looking for the cause. They try to change the result without changing their mindset.
To deliver dramatic and permanent results, you must change your way of thinking. If there is no shifting mindset, any change or improvement will be minimal and / or short-term.
