The sun is a unique star in the universe

Not to be a sour-puss but you're saying our star is amazing for having these features that can sustain us, however we're the product of that sun. Its not that we're here in spite of an unforgiving universe, its that our solar system and our planet were the right circumstances for life to evolve. Saying our star is perfect is kind of like a puddle saying the hole its in is the perfect shape for it. The truth is there's trillions of stars just like ours and a somewhat smaller number of planets out there that are equal to our Earth. So the really amazing thing is that there's almost certainly others out there. Others that due to our technology we will likely never communicate with, that just like you think they are unique, but due to the truly vast distances, will never know anyone else was there.
