THE FUTURE IS COMING!

in science •  7 years ago

Some of us have surely seen many films that show us a future from different perspectives, whether from a pessimist, where we observe a post-apocalyptic land with destruction and survival, facing the machines and terminator robots, or simply fighting zombies; even a farther future where the republic and the empire face the best style of the revolutions of our real past history. Also from the optimistic perspective, which should be said, is not the most positivist, since there are always clashes and conflicts, as in " Stars Trek", where the infinite universe is explored (Space, the final frontier), with an amazing technology, but conflicts and fights between races are never absent.

However, from a real perspective, technology has grown at an amazing rate, where it should be noted that its growth follows an exponential pattern, which results in the current incredible advances, which are only slowed by the current economy and its methods of commerce, where money must follow its course and maintain its flow to preserve the market and current lifestyles, where there are only employers and employees, both being consumers. Even when the economy blocks the immediate availability of several scientific advances, these are still real and potentially available to humanity, from the regeneration of lost members, stem cells and their potential, to CRISPR technology (Clustered Regularly Interspaced Short Palindromic Repeats), which promises to change everything in the health system (literally, the editing of genes at will).

On the other hand, we find supersonic electromagnetic vehicles (MAGLEV) with zero carbon emissions, as well as more advanced robotics, which together with supercomputers and AI (Artificial Intelligence) will bring automation that will simply change, and is even changing our society. Therefore, from this current scientific-technological perspective, we can say that the future is coming, but from an optimistic scenario, although it should be noted that the pessimist is always present and latent, with a planet in constant warming, whose consequence is change climate that we are witnessing, as well as the absurd conflicts of a deeply sick society, in that the activist Peter Joseph has called "Social Pathology".

This optimistic scenario mentioned, is represented by technological and scientific progress, as well as initiatives such as Earthvote and @thevenusproject that seek a more equitable world among individuals, and more balanced with nature, taking technology to its most advanced state, freeing to the human being of repetitive and monotonous jobs, as well as bringing abundance in refuge, food and prosperity for every human being on this planet. Perhaps many think that this is technically impossible, but they simply have not projected and analyzed the information that can make this possible.

For these initiatives to be successful we must first inform ourselves of what they are, and then if we agree to develop a better world, we must share that information with as many people as possible.

I @mariolester, I do my part, so I leave these links so they can inform themselves (in case they are not informed), or simply give their opinion in this article, because I'm sure the future is coming, and to building it in the most ideal way possible, we must all be participants.
