Evolutionarily Speaking, Could Dragons Ever Exist In Real Life?

You say "I am incredibly doubtful such a creature will ever exist outside of our imaginations."

I say "selective breeding, genetic engineering and cybernetic organisms".

I'll bet you 100 SBD that in less than ten years, we see something that you will agree is close enough to be a dragon. Seriously, with all the crazy fanboys out there, do you really see it not happening?

Fine, yes, you could probably selectively evolve those traits into any number of animals that already have the basic appearance of a dragon (plenty to choose from, I like the red-eyed crocodile skink and dragon snake below). The idea was more along the lines of could a dragon NATURALLY EVOLVE on it's own...though I guess some artificial selection wouldn't be a problem. But yes, arguably you could create just about any animal with the right combination of artificial selection, genetic modification and cybernetic augmentation.
