New research on the functions of genes in living world support the hypothesis that life on Earth is capturing energy from chemical reactions before starting to copy your code.
The result highlights the evolutionary debate about what came first, replication or RNA metabolism.
If replicating genes need energy, and our metabolism is regulated by enzymes produced by the genes, how can we genes without metabolism and without metabolic genes?
Now scientists have found further evidence to support the theory that life started to metabolize before been associated with the first genes.
The team of Prof.. Anoles and prof. Koch chose 249 body from the whole tree of life and compared not only their series, but the specific functions of each of their genes.
"The best way to find one is through his body functions," they explain.
Their idea was that the more ancient was the function, the spread will be.
It turned out that the very foundation of the tree of life were two features that are common to every living creature - metabolism and hmicheskoto connection.
"Fully logically these two functions to be initiated at the earliest, because the molecules are first needed generate energy through metabolism, and is supposed to interact with Other molecules by binding to them."
