Study on the benefits of laughter in patients indicates that it is not only the best medicine , but also can lead to various health complications.
The survey of Oxford University is dedicated to the benefits and harms of laughter and covers the period from 1946 to the present day. It seems that outbursts of laughter can sometimes be a cause of trouble, such as a torn esophagus and heart problems.
For example, a woman with cardiac arrhythmia suddenly collapsed and died after a period of intense laughter. Another case shows that the expression "to break up with laughter" can be very real after a dose of laughter caused the rupture of the esophagus. Researchers found that if you take a quick breath while laughing often can lead to absorption of unwanted objects or even provoke an asthma attack.
Too much laughter guilty more about urinary incontinence and can activate a hernia.
On the other hand laughter has undeniable positive effects as that granted thickened walls of the arteries and thus reduces the risk of heart attack. Again laughter increases fertility - 36% of women who were entertained by clowns in hospital after IVF then conceived.
