Spinal muscular atrophy is a degenerative neuromuscular disease that leads to loss of strength and prevents children from walking, as a result of which complications such as deviations of the spine (scoliosis), osteoporosis and respiratory failure are developed, this disease affects one of each 3,500 babies in the world.

La atrofia muscular espinal es una enfermedad neuromuscular degenerativa que conlleva la pérdida de fuerza e impide a los niños caminar, como resultado de ésta se desarrollan complicaciones como desviaciones de la columna (escoliosis), osteoporosis e insuficiencia respiratoria, esta enfermedad afecta a uno de cada 3.500 bebés en el mundo.

After more than 10 years of work and trials, the world's first pediatric exoskeleton created by the Spanish Higher Center for Scientific Research (CSIC) has received the CE mark awarded by the European Union, which will allow this device to be incorporated into hospitals and rehabilitation clinics.
