The Republic of El Salvador, is a sovereign country in Central America located on the coast of the Pacific Ocean, its current president Nayib Bukele has been the protagonist of the media lately, not only for his performance with the maras, applauded and disappeared alike but by His attitude towards cryptocurrencies, specifically Bitcoin and Ether.
La República de El Salvador, es un país soberano de América Central ubicado en el litoral del océano Pacífico, su actual presidente Nayib Bukele ha sido protagonista de los medios últimamente, no solo por su actuación con las maras, aplaudida y denostada por igual sino por su actitud frente a las criptomonedas, concretamente Bitcoin y Ether.

Now El Salvador's new strategy is to attract cryptocurrency investors to reside in its Bitcoin City, a kind of fiscal paradise for cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology, has created a new program called “Programa Adoptando Visas de Libertad de El Salvador ”, which will grant residence permits to people who invest at least USD $ 1 million in Bitcoin (BTC) and Tether (USDT).
Ahora la nueva estrategia del salvador consiste en atraer a inversores de criptomonedas para que residan en su Bitcoin City, una especie de paraíso fiscal para las criptomonedas y la tecnología blockchain, ha creado un nuevo programa llamado “Programa Adoptando Visas de Libertad de El Salvador”, que concederá permisos de residencia a personas que inviertan al menos USD $1 millón en Bitcoin (BTC) y Tether (USDT).
This program will grant residence permits to a maximum of 1,000 people per year, a visa for a long term with the option to obtain full citizenship, the application would mean paying 999 non -refundable dollars paid in BTC or USDT and will begin operating from next Friday you are interested.
Este programa otorgará permisos de residencia a un máximo de 1.000 personas por año, una visa por un largo plazo con opción a obtener la ciudadanía plena, la solicitud supondría abonar 999 dólares no reembolsables pagados en BTC o USDT y comenzará a funcionar a partir del próximo viernes si estáis interesados.

As reported by the Presidency Press Secretariat, the funds obtained with this initiative will be used to improve the infrastructure of the country, improve public health and education, communications, etc., which if fulfilled will be a huge impulse for the well -being of Salvadorans.
Según lo comunicado por la secretaría de prensa de la presidencia, los fondos obtenidos con esta iniciativa se utilizarán para mejorar las infraestructuras del país, mejorar la salud pública y la educación, comunicaciones, etc., cosa que si se cumple será un enorme impulso para el bienestar de los salvadoreños.
This plan is not so novel, there are other similar plans in the neighboring islands of the Caribbean, the true innovation is that El Salvador is the first to do so accepting cryptocurrencies.
Nayib Bukele has been very questioned lately for his attitude towards the maras and for allegedly violating human rights, I am not an expert in the subject and therefore I do not plan to pronounce, but in relation to cryptocurrencies it seems an excellent idea.
Este plan no es tan novedoso, existen otros planes similares en las islas vecinas del caribe, la verdadera innovación es que El Salvador es el primero en hacerlo aceptando criptomonedas.
Nayib Bukele ha sido muy cuestionado últimamente por su actitud hacia las maras y por haber violado presuntamente los derechos humanos, no soy experto en el tema y por ello no me pienso pronunciar, pero en lo referente a las criptomonedas me parece una excelente idea.

Definitivamente el presidente Bukele ha sido diferentes a otros mandatarios. Ojalá que sus ideas y quienes le asesoran no se equivoquen y logren desarrollar e impulsar cada vez más las criptomonedas.
El tiempo dirá si son decisiones acertadas o quedará como un gran experimento.
