A few days ago we were talking about hydrogen as an ideal energy source for large transports such as trucks, trains and ships, but for smaller vessels it seems that solar energy is even better.
The Singapore-based company Azura Marine has built a yacht capable, according to its designers, of traveling across the oceans without stopping, powered by electricity from the sun.
It is a small yacht that can accommodate up to 8 passengers with all kinds of comforts, with a fully electric propulsion system powered by solar panels and with a 60 kWh battery.

The Solar Eclipse Aquanima 40, which is what this model is called, is 13.25 meters long, powered by two motors of 10 kW each with a total of 20 kW (27.2 CV) with which it reaches a maximum speed of 10 knots (18.5 km / h).
In addition to the mentioned battery, the yacht has a 56 square meter photovoltaic installation protected by a transparent film, which allows it to be used by the crew as a living area.
The yacht also has a 56 m2 rain collection system, water generator and water recovery, air conditioning, a fully equipped kitchen, high-quality sound equipment, WIFI and 4G connectivity.

And best of all, it is not a future project, the yacht is already built and for sale, there are even some models already sailing the seas.
The only problem it has is the price that, although we are talking about a boat with little maintenance and that does not waste fuel, is around half a million euros, so I still have a lot to publish in Hive.
