How many of us have seen a football field? Of course that was a rhetorical question because most of us must have seen it in real life or on Televisions. Now imagine a ship four times as big as a four football fields!
Colosal right? That is the size of the Gigantic Prelude FLNG which has set sail from the south Korean Shipyard voyaging across the vast Ocean to it's newly found home offshore North-Western Austrailia.
This Massive Sea Monster was designed to chi natural gas produced at the Prelude gas field to -162 °C, shrinking it's volume by 600times so it can be exported to customers around the World in the form of Liquiefied Natural Gas(LNG).
At 488 meters long and 74 meters wide, Prelude FLNG is longer than four full size football pitchs as earlier described, then let us all imagine how many months it could take to haul itself to its desired destinations?
From you answers, that is how long it takes for individual oil workers, espcially the ones on projects like this to see their beautiful families and loved ones.
