In Bangladesh, women are lagging behind in many ways compared to men. In recent years, in some cases, women's or women's students have improved in terms of status, women are still much behind considering overall situation. Various initiatives are being taken at government or private level to overcome this situation, and the results of the initiatives are being seen slowly. One of the places where female or female students are ahead in Bangladesh is the rate of enrollment of girls in primary education. According to official estimates, the admission rate in the primary level of Bangladesh is 91 percent, among which girls are ahead of boys (94.7 percent and 87.8 percent respectively). In the last few years SSC and HSC results also show that in all education boards, girl students have done better or equal results than boys.
At the same time, students who have not been enrolled in primary schools have seen that there are more than 12 percent children all over the country who have never been admitted to primary school, and boys are far more than girls. In all, girl students are at a very good position in the school's accessibility grounds. In Figure 1, a comparison image of the increase in the rate of enrollment of girls in Bangladesh's primary school will be available. It is seen, in 1998, in the primary school, the girl child enrollment rate was 78.5 percent, in 2007, it increased to 95 percent. This rate is rising at 1.8 percent per year. However, this is the average picture of the whole country. There are many areas where the admission rate of girls is not 50 percent.
Figure 1: Girl child enrollment rate in primary school in BangladeshAlong with the government's efforts, non-governmental organizations or NGOs are focusing more on the education of the poor and the drop-outs where the girl children are getting more importance. In most of the schools run by the informal system, two-thirds of the girl children were admitted, which has played an important role in completing primary education of more women. Considering teachers, it is seen that the number of women teachers in each level of education is increasing. According to the Government of Bangladesh announcement, the ratio of male and female teacher to primary education in the country will be 60:40. This decision is expected to be implemented by appointing more women every year every year and it is possible to reach the ratio within a few days. About 100 percent of pre-primary level teachers are women. Besides, women are given priority in other sectors of the job. The issue of the participation of a large number of girls in education is now spreading the primary boundaries in the medium and higher education. The number of female candidates in the primary and secondary examination of 2012 and 2013 was more than the number of boys who were examined. In the case of junior closing examination, more than one lakh female candidates have participated in the examinations in 2013. The government, NGOs and local civil society have a lot to do in order to speed up this progress and ensure that. Girls have achieved this success without crossing the barriers like poverty, family reluctance, religious prejudice, eve teasing, women's insecurity. So, when these obstacles are removed, Bangladesh will achieve a remarkable success in shaping the world in terms of women education.
