Tonight was science night. Basically, you bring your kids and there are different stations for
- Meteorology
- Crime Scene Investigation
- Geology
- Anthropology
- Astronomy
- Rockets
It was in the evening with food trucks and fun.
Started with Rockets

Crime Scene Investigation
My understanding was this was actually something really cool, but alas, I could not participate. I let my family do that. It was just bedlam inside these stations. Barely standing room.
Crime Scene Unit
Meteorology
Meteorologist, Erin Christenson, came and gave a weather report. She's a symbol for budding young female scientists.
My Impressions
Overall, it was a great chance to expose kids to real world sciences. With different age groups participating at once, it was very chaotic. Worse of all was that some kids considered it a social event and parents/teachers were accepting of this. It made it difficult for people to actually enjoy and participate. It was also difficult for volunteers to instruct. Hopefully, they solve this in the future.
It was super fun! Next year!
