How spiders grow?
Spiders havent got muscles working like humans. Instead of this they have an exoskeleton and they are filled with hemolymph.
This works like hydraulic machine. they have 2 systems - hemolymph to streighten, and muscles to contract thei legs
They are using this mechanism to change their old exoskeleton.
The new exoskeleton is growing inside the old one, and when spiders havent got place for new body he is changing it.
The molting process look like alien thing, but is very intereting to observe.
If you have pet tarantula you can even keep their skin!
Check it out:
So, very similar to how snakes shed their old skin. hmmm, interesting! Thanks for sharing!
