The Pathway To The World Of Bio-robotics Evolves Rapidly; As "Synthetic Babies" Are Set To Revolutionize Procreation

in science •  7 years ago

As a way of introduction, I'd love to remind us that each passing year, trails are blazed, new paths are found, and boundaries are crossed in the world of Science and Technology. Here, the boundary that has been crossed is from biological reproduction to bio-synthetic reproduction. Welcome to the world of synthetic babies.

I once made a statement, but I'll still reiterate it here:

You can't stop "tech revolution", you can only stop yourself from participating in it.- @samminator

Have you ever considered the possibility of biology merging with robotics? Well, this is no longer just a fragment of men's imagination, it has arrived in our midst,

The emergence of amazing tech is only mind-limited. As long as you can think it, you can achieve it.

This area of bio-robotics is so broad, but we'll be focussing on biorobotics procreation.

Bio-robotics conception and procreation

May I reiterate here that bio-robots are not just mere mechanical devices; they are, more or less, human-simulated humanoid robots, with a detailed resemblance to the biological humans.

In the process of bio-robotic conception, because they can't make sperms and ova, these have to be sourced from humans, or cultured in the lab (thanks to stem cell engineering and biotechnology). The fertilization is usually external,  after which it is transplanted to the robot's bio-synthetic uterus. This, in layman's language, is called "pregnant robot". The Uterus is designed in such a way to mimic the female biological uterus to the minutest details.

A friend of mine asked me:

Will these babies be called humans or robots? If they're called humans, who will be their parents?

Well, I guess I'll get back to him on that, as this tech unfolds.

Before I conclude, I'd love to touch a little bit on artifical uterus

Artificial Uterus

This could be the tech that will shimmer rays of light on the path of humans who are unable to conceive naturally.

This is similar in operation to the robot's uterus in the above image, only that it is not movable. Also, the fertilization must not necessarily be through sperm-ova union, stem cell from individuals could be used.

And yes, you wouldn't be too wrong to call it cloning. This is just like having a younger version of yourself. Because it will be the same genetic makeup. This can be called Reproductive cloning

With the advancement in this tech, a time could come when the world will be full of bio-synthetic babies. Till then, all I can say is: Tech can only get better.

Tech rules!!

True, technology has no limit because the technology is nothing but our thinking. Till our thinking is their, technology will expand time to time.

Great post, thanks for sharing.

Thanks for dropping by

Welcome.

So, you're telling me sex is no longer essential for reproduction? What could be better than that?

Apart from let's see...... Immortality of course

Lol. Bros na dat side ur mind come go? No matter d kind advancements wey happen, u think say science go fit comot our mind from dat side? :)
Thanks for reading bro
