That is what Rabbi Resley said in his book "The Golden Gate of Israel Disadvantaged in Indonesia". "
The disclosure of the existence of the Israelites in Maluku begins with the author's research on the origins of the author's own ancestors, the early inhabitants of S'rua Island which is the third island of Teon Islands, Nila, S'rua (TNS). However, this research extends to Maluku culture as a whole.
According to Resley, if all this time the Christians of Maluku call themselves Israel without fear, using the symbols of Israel, and tend to behave like the Israelites, and defend Israel desperately; it is not just the fanaticism of their faith alone, but it also arises from the impulse of their hearts. This is because based on the results of his research enough found the similarities between language, customs (culture), and relics of the Moluccas who have similarities with the Jewish tribe. In other words, the ancestors of the Moluccas were Jews.
Resley said that long before the Arabs and Europeans knew the Moluccas (Arab arrived in the middle of the 14th century, the Portuguese arrived in the early fifteenth century) there had been other nations who first knew Maluku, including the Chinese.
The Israelites (Hebrews) enter Maluku through India and China. Because in 605 BC from the Kingdom of Judah (Southern Kingdom) was conquered and transported to exile in the area of Media and Persia (Iraq and Iran). When the Persian Empire came to power, its power included Ethiopia (Africa) all the way to India. Even since 722 BC, the kingdom of Israel (Northern Kingdom) consisting of 10 tribes has been previously transported by the Assyrians, then scattered in various nations in Assyrian territory and when the Romans colonized Palestine and Central Asia since 63 BC until the emergence of religion Christians in the 1st century AD, when the highways were built, making it possible for a person to reach all parts of the kingdom easily. The Israelites were scattered in almost every city within the Roman empire as traders (Introduction to pp. 4-5) and at present there is a very good trade relationship between the western world (the Roman Empire) and the eastern world (the Chinese Empire).
It was during this part of the Roman Empire that the Hebrew merchants arrived in Maluku with their Roman merchant trading partners, the Chinese merchants. One strong evidence is that in the 1st century AD the spices of the Moluccas were once sold in Jerusalem, it was because in AD 33, some of the Jewish women were: Mary Magdalene and her friends bought spices in the market of Jerusalem to preserve bodies Jesus (Mark 16: 1).
Another Israeli opportunity to arrive in Maluku was that Israeli merchants came to Maluku on their own after knowing the way to Maluku from Chinese merchants.
In Maluku History book p. 19 said that the word Maluku comes from the word "Maloko" which is the title title for Kalano (regional head). Well, this word "Maloko" according to Resley comes from Hebrew. The title for the king in Hebrew is "Literacy" or "Melekh". The more ancient form is "Maliki" (EKAMK II p.292), so that in Tang Tang Tambo in China (618-906) "Maluku" is recorded as "Miliku", an area used as a benchmark for the direction of the "Holing "(Kalingga) which is to the west.
Another word similar to Maloko is "Molech" which is the god of the Ammonites. The Hebrew name of this name is "Molek". In the Old Testament scriptures, Molec generally has the clothing (Leviticus 18:21; 20: 2-5; 2 Kings 23:10; Jeremiah 32:35). The word "Molech" in these verses implies that the word may be a common word for the one who rules (EKAMK II p. 93). Thus, the Maloko title imposed for a Kalano is derived from Hebrew culture and language. And the word Molech (Moloch) in Hebrew means king. Maloko then called Maluku (Molokhus). And indeed the islands of Maluku means the islands of kings.
In addition, according to Resley, the word "Alifuru" which is a term for people who first inhabit the Moluccas is not from the Arabic (Alif). For long before the Arab (Islam) influences entered Maluku in the mid-XIV century, there have been nations inhabiting the Maluku archipelago whose spreading starts from Nusa Ina and Halmahera which are called by AH anthropologists. Keane, FJP. Sachese and OD. Tauren as the tribe of "Alfuros".
This Alfuros word is very unlikely to be derived from Alifuru, even though it refers to the original human understanding. For if the word Alifuru is associated with the words Maloko, Baeleu, and Seniri, and culture chiefs, namely Alluf, then it is not suitable.
The word Alif came after the entry of Arabs to Maluku. But before that, Alfuros said this refers to the name of the tribe that has been found by experts, namely "ALUNE" that exist both in Nusa Ina (Seram) and Halmahera that have a culture or government system "ALLUF" that is: leadership is in the hands of " chief of tribe / chief ". This culture was first applied by the "Edomites": the descendants of Esau, the brother of Jacob (Israel) son of Isaac, in Maluku called the house eye (head of the people), Soa's head and chief.
Alluf in the Hebrew sense is:
- Commander, leader (Hebrew-Short Dictionary p. 11)
- The later chiefs of the people of Edom are called "Kings" (Genesis 36:19, 31)
At the end of his book, Resley says that the majority of the Moluccas are descendants of the Gad tribe, the tribe of Israel that is supposedly lost and can not be found anymore. This is the only tribe that has no representative in Israel today. The opening of the golden gate and the fulfillment of the second coming of Christ's prophecy to rule the world from Jerusalem are only fulfilled if the twelve tribes have gathered in the land of Zion (Israel), which includes the tribe of Gad, ultimately termed Resley as the Jewish Alfuros.
