FIRST Science-Trail Weekly Newsletter! Week of Monday June 12th

in science •  7 years ago  (edited)

Hello all! Thank you for the support on the introduction post, it is great to see so much appreciation for science here on steemit. With that said, let's get into some of what you can expect from the trail this week.

Full Steem ahead down the Science-Trail!

Starting this week, we will be releasing a weekly science newsletter which will highlight articles from content creators of high and low reputation across the science tag. Going forward, we hope to introduce interesting challenges and contests to encourage new science content. Next week will be the introduction of our themed article contest, where we will pick a topic and leave it to you guys to create interesting posts that educate us. Submissions will be reviewed over the course of the following week and the author's post doing best at the end of the contest will be deemed the recognized Nerd on that topic!

Most details on what this will mean for content creators will be explained in contests posts in the future. So leave a suggestion about what you think the first themed article contest topic should be below!

And so we get to the content creators of the week. As the trail started a little bit behind this week, the Newsletter will be kept short with just 5 content creators to bring to you this week. Although this is the week of Monday June 12th, obviously only content posted from the week before, up to today, will be featured. We also want to make sure you guys read the articles and support, so we won't be spoiling too much!

5. A Plan To Refreeze The Arctic

An interesting article from a lesser know user, Sungazer13 sheds some light on an interesting set of solutions for our dwindling arctic ecosystem.

4. Debunking Myths of Climate Change Debate

Following up on the topic of climate change is Anarchyhasnogods who looks to clear the muddied waters that are the myths of consensus in climate change scientists.

3. Chemistry Express Series: Electron Orbitals

A great series that we stumbled upon this week by another lesser known creator, Elemenya seeks to educate us on all aspects of Chemistry with her series 'Chemistry Express'

2. Solution to Invasive Species: Add More?

What was to be the number 1, with it's spot stolen in the last days of the week is an article by herpetologyguy. He offers insight into the intriguing way which an invasive Australian toad may be thwarted.

1. Gridcoin

The big number one for our first week is an amazing coin introduced to the trail by Vortac and Dutch. This coin seeks to enhance the impact of cryptocurrencies in scientific fields, and promises to be beneficial to tons of scientists worldwide. Read Dutch's post to learn more and we will cover this coin more in the future.

And that's it for this week's newsletter!!

Remember to Upvote, Follow, and Comment what you think the topic for the first contest should be! Your support for the trail is what allows us to in turn support you, so why not Resteem while you're at it!
