- CHOCOLATE SILVER DAPPLE PINTO
There really isn’t such a thing as an ugly horse. Horses are some of the most beautiful animals on the planet. We associate them with freedom, elegance and power. And for good reason. But the breeds on this list are truly majestic. Their unique appearances give them an air of almost supernatural charm. You may have trouble believing some of them are real, but we assure you they are.
• Called “Taffy” horses in Australia
Horses with the “silver dapple” gene usually have flaxen tails and manes, and a “dappled” body, with rings of lighter-colored hair appearing over a darker background. They are truly stunning, and look like something that galloped off the cover of a fantasy paperback. Unfortunately, they do not actually wield any magical powers. Unless you count the ability to drop jaws.
- GOLDEN AKHAL TEKE
• National emblem of Turkmenistan
These gorgeous horses, originally from Turkmenistan, are more than just pretty. They’re also known for their speed, intelligence and endurance. Their hair has an unusual metallic cast to it. They are adapted for severe conditions, and are believed to be among the oldest breeds of horses. There are about 6.600 known Akhal-Tekes in the world, mostly concentrated in Turkmenistan and Russia
THE KNABSTRUPPER
• Potentially no purebreds still exist
The Knabstrupper looks as strange as its name sounds. It’s a Danish breed, that was first established in 1812. They have a genetic idiosyncrasy called the “Leopard complex,” that leads to their spotted coloration. It’s not unique to the Knabstrupper – other breeds such as the Appaloosa also display the Leopard complex. The Knabstrupper used to be a popular breed, but subsequent crossbreeding has winnowed out its genetic stock and it’s now unclear if there are any purebreds left. Knabstruppers are popular for general riding, as well as show jumping, dressage, and even circus performance.
My wife love horses and i can relate to this pictures due to my wife's obsession with horse.
