Mary staggered back to her bed. She had stood frozen in the doorway for a full hour. Leaving the door open, she lay on her bed. Frozen, trembling, Mary curled up in her bed. Sobbing softly, then she screamed, a long, loud curdling scream that penetrated the landscape around her.
Mary would never see her precious child again. She would be registered insane, grow old and white and her life spent sedated and pining away inside the walls of a mental institution.
Mary's baby would never see the world his mother lived in.....for many centuries to come.
THE GREAT HALL
Inside the mothership the prince made his grand entrance into the great hall of the mothership. He stood on the balcony overlooking the 10,000 commandos waiting below. In perfect unison each commando got down on one knee and bowed their heads to the prince before standing upright again.
The prince was 10 foot tall, dressed in leather commando gear with a robe hanging from his shoulders. He was surrounded by his courtiers, concubines, brothers, sisters and maids. Cats, dogs, sheep and other animals ran around his feet and amongst his court of followers.
The prince cleared his throat before he addressed the vast crowd gathered below him.
“Commandos, this has been a good find. This tiny planet in the middle of nowhere, has been proven to be a fine collection of biodiversity. Amazing for such a vapid part of the galaxy. I want to congratulate the commando who found this place.”
The commando who had discovered earth was stood to the side of the crowd of courtiers on the balcony. The prince beckoned him to his side. The prince faced him squarely, and putting his elongated hand into a side pocket of his uniform, pulled out a medal that glowed luminescent. The prince placed it onto the commandos chest, whence it stuck fast.
“Your star has risen commando!” the prince exclaimed.
“You will be given your own fleet of ships and always have my ear.”
The recipient commando dropped to one knee and bowed his head.
“Rise commando, go join your men.”
The commando left the balcony. The crowd below saluted and cheered the commando as he descended down to the floor of the hall. The Prince held his arms aloft, and the hall fell silent.
“The Emperor has asked me to return back to home. For what reason, I do not know. The mission is ending men. Prepare for the journey home.”
Quickly, the hall dispersed and the prince made his exit, followed in tow by his courtiers. The hall fell quiet. A crow flew around the hall trying to make an escape of sorts with no luck of finding any opening to escape.
