2,000 Days on Mars With the Curiosity Rover :rocket:

It has now been just more than 2,000 days considering the fact that NASA’s Curiosity rover landed on the floor of Mars. In the times (or “sols,” as they're known as on Mars) considering its complex sky-crane touchdown, Curiosity has made limitless discoveries with a couple of contraptions, including drills, lasers, and an array of imaging gadgets that so far have sent 468,926 images returned to Earth. Gathered here are a few pics of Mars from Curiosity over the past few years.

This self-portrait of NASA's Curiosity Mars rover indicates the vehicle at Namib Dune, wherein the rover's sports protected scuffing into the dune with a wheel and scooping samples of sand for laboratory evaluation. The scene changed into taken on January 19, 2016, at some point of Sol 1228.

pretty crazy that thing has been up there for 2000 days. Is it still running? If so, that's pretty impressive seeing as there's no one around to fix it if there's a mechanical failure.
