Observing entropy - #21 Waking Life "Free Will"

in science •  7 years ago  (edited)

we become un predictable in our action and our creations surprise and delight even our "selves".

I know that feeling. It is the most enlightening/addictive feeling ever experienced. It almost feels like you're inlove with the universe.

when we become a collection of rigid opinions - opposite, then we are dreamy and reactive, we get upset easily - then we are automaton.

Being Rigid, won't feel the same vibrations as when flexible. thus different perspectives/perceptions.

But what if external/internal sources try to keep you in these rigid types of environments?

Notice that everything in the news are only bad news. Radio songs are psychologically manipulated to keep you into a type of hypnosis. Constantly bombarded by stupid influences whether on advertisements, tv, books and especially the bs of brainless zombies walking the streets. no wonder the title of " the walking dead ". parents/friends,....

We're 2 times more sensitive to negative than positive. (we fear loss more than we value gain. Losing 100$ costs you a greater amount of happiness than the delight if I gave you 100$).
In fact, it has been proven that, emotionally, a loss ‘weighs’ about twice that of a
similar gain. Social scientists call this loss aversion.

We can’t fight it: evil is more powerful and more plentiful than good. We are
more sensitive to negative than to positive things. On the street, scary faces stand
out more than smiling ones. We remember bad behaviour longer than good –
except, of course, when it comes to ourselves.

This is extracted from the "- The Art of Thinking Clearly" book.

They constantly exploit people's fears and greed.

It is a beautiful play from a 3rd person's perspective. Not quite when you live it...

Hey - morning for me, so I'll say good morning :)

I have spend most of my life as a "spiritual nerd"
quite a boring guy really, who always switches conversations over to what I want to say.
eventually I realised I was a terrified control freak lol

Its not that my fears or the stories that I bought and sold went away, they haven't
I still catch myself speaking in the language of opinions.
complaining about the world

I do check in on my inner string and to the degree that I am able, I let it be a spring
Where I can not, then I allow it to be whatever it is.
When I am with people I have this little space now, I ask myself, do I really need to "correct" this person or what is the energy behind what I am about to say?
the ole "fear or love" thing has lost its poignancy but not its accuracy.

Our freedom is truly our focus.
the only way to keep our focus is to inhabit our bodies
for that is where our senses are - I guess

Never said it was easy, that is why a caring about others more than self is a real key
its when I finally let go of my "needs" much of which are really distractions from the
horrible yet barely noticed feelings of fear pulling on my string.
