A meteor that exploded in the sky above New Haven in Michigan was spotted by a security camera on many cars, and the blast caused an earthquake.

The meteorite explosion was so strong that it caused an earthquake measuring 2 degrees on the Richter scale.

The footage shows the meteor explodes on the surface of the Earth.

Authorities say they received over a thousand calls because people were in general panic about the severity of the blast.
