DIY Variable High Voltage Power Supply (0.05-30KV)

in science •  7 years ago

I built my own high voltage variable transformer using a ZVS Driver, Flyback Transformer and a Varic. The most expensive part of this project is the Varic but that is because I had one lying around and was a easy way to get what I needed done. This can be powered by a Li-Po Battery, but I wont have that variability. This requires alot of current so I wouldnt recommend using this for long periods of time. I use it to charge my high voltage capacitor bank, and even then I dont have it running for more than 2 minutes.

If you would like to know more about the circuit I used, let me know and I will make a video explaining how this works. Well I will put more effort into explaining it then I do demonstrating it.
