Misophonia: When the mind does not tolerate certain sounds

in science •  7 years ago

The literal meaning of Misophonia is a hateful sound, and the word itself is derived from the ancient Greek where Miso Miso μισο of misein μισεῖν means "phon", phon phon of Greek ωωνο ph phonos means "voice" and the sound here is intended to sound altogether without limitation. The suffix "ia" at the end of Mizovonia is the way words are converted to medical cases, for example, with schizophrenia.

Mziaophonia has another less common name, Selective Sound Sensitivity Syndrome. The onset of this disorder begins in childhood, between the eighth and the age of thirteen, and sometimes after puberty, and then continue life in most cases, and increase with stress, fatigue and hunger!

If you get angry or upset by some sounds that others make and look normal, such as chewing, watering, heavy breathing, snoring, sneezing, clicking with fingers, scribbling and scratching on dry surfaces, you may suffer from misoponia! Do not worry, it is not a serious or contagious illness, but after it was seen as an unsatisfactory state, new research suggests that Mizovonia represents a real satisfactory disorder!

Sounds computers make drive me nuts. All the little bings and boings and pzzzts feel like someone's poking my ears with a stick when I hear them. Push notifications do the same thing to my eyes.
