I have been following Aubrey's career since the beginning of this century. IMHO his work has been pivotal in bringing about the recent surge in anti-aging research despite a climate of government funding cutbacks (in the United States) and global recession.
At the SENS 2 scientific conference, I had the pleasure of speaking with him a couple of times and I thoroughly believe in the sincerity of his ambition to end aging ASAP. Off hand, I can't think of anyone that is working harder for something most important to me - a healthy extended lifespan. As Betterhumans columnist Dale Carrico once said, "He's a transhumanist superstar."
I agree that more people need to know about rejuvenation biotechnology and de Grey's SENS in particular, if only for the hope it provides. Moreover, de Grey's SENS plan is a hard nosed scientific approach to engineering negligible senescence for humanity, albeit disruptive to the status quo. It deserves our recognition and support
