I was reading this up just earlier this week.
I believe it to be very useful, cost and time will be saved. Production/labour cost will be slashed more than half.

If it gets to the point where 3D printers are home accessories then intellectual properties rather than gadgets would be the new product.

    I definitely agree. There is a lot of benefit to be had in increasing this technology.
