The sun is one of the stars of thousands of stars scattered in the sky. The sun is the nearest star to the earth.
Distance and size of the sun
Seen from the earth, the sun is much bigger than the other stars. Though the sun is not the biggest star. The sun is an incandescent gas ball with very high temperatures. Below I listed some data about the sun:
NO | DISCUSSION NAME | PERCENTAGE / SIZE |
---|---|---|
1 | The average distance of the sun from the earth is: | 150,000,000 km |
2 | The diameter of the sun is | 109 x the diameter of the earth |
3 | Surface temperature | 60000 C |
4 | Sun Material | 70% hydrogen, 25% helium, 5% other elements. |
Where did the solar energy source come from?
A physicist who came from the United States named Albert Einstein argued that solar energy is generated by nuclear reactions (nuclear reactions) that occur in the sun.
In the sun occurs core reactions that cause the change of hydrogen atoms into helium atoms. When the nuclear reaction takes place, some of the mass of the reacting substance disappears into energy. The amount of energy generated by the nucleus is:
E = m.c2
E = the energy generated.
m = the mass that disappears into energy.
c = rapid propagation of electromagnetic waves = 3 x 108 meters / sec.
EXAMPEL
If 1 grams of hydrogen atom performs a nuclear reaction (turned into a helium atom) then 0.0072 grams of hydrogen atom is destroyed and turned into energy by 0.0072 x (3 x 108)2 x 0.24 calories = 1.5 x 1011 calories.
Thus the mass of the sun is constantly diminished. But based on the calculations of experts solar energy inventories are still enough for 60 billion years.
Here is a brief discussion of me ( @turkarma ) about the distance, size and origin of solar energy sources. Hopefully this post is useful for everything. I have forgotten about the source of the book on this subject because I have been writing about it in my notes for a long time.
