Good afternoon readers. I did an extra credit interesting fact sheet on H.G. Wells, the "Father of Science-Fiction," most notable for his "War on the Worlds"

                                                             Interesting Facts About H.G. Wells

• H.G. Wells was born on September 21st, 1866 in Bromley, Kent, England, to Joseph Wells and Sarah Neal

• Wells had 3 sons and a daughter

• Wells a wrote diverse range of genres, including science-fiction, comedy, and politics

• Wells is known as “The Father of Science-Fiction”

• Wells’s The World Set Free, published in 1914, predicted the atomic bomb

• Wells’s unsuccessfully ran for Parliament in 1922 and 1923 as candidate of the Labour Party. He wanted this position to advance his ideas.

• H.G. Wells wrote 114 books in his lifetime, 50 of which were novels

• When Wells War of the Worlds was broadcast over the radio on October 30th, 1938 the masses who heard it thought it was real and caused a panic

• Atleast 26 of Wells books have been made into movies, including War of the Worlds, A Trip to the Moon, and The Time Machine

• Wells passed away on August 13th, 1946 at the age of 79
