But now scientists are convinced that stories about people who dying in this place are not a mysterious story, writes dailystar.
The researchers found evidence that once in this antique location in the present-day city of Denizli in Turkey accumulated concentrated and deadly gas. They can be a threat even today.
Professor Hardy Pfanz from the Duisburg-Essen University of Germany led research, whose year it was discovered that antique remains still emit large concentrations of carbon dioxide.
This caves is formed above the Badadag tectonic breakage, which means that poisonous gases broke through the earth's crust and flooded the grove. Scientists believe that it was precisely because of these gases, but not the smell of antique god, that this place mysteriously died of many people.
