I was just following the discussion the SCT community had with @justinsunsteemit, @roelandp, @glory7, @guiltyparties and i have to say that this was the stupidest waste of time ever.
I was really hoping the Korean community had something valuable add to the talks, anything that would bring us to closer to bridging this conflict. Unfortunately i was completely wrong.
What this talk was is a simple "bidding war" of who gets the Koreans to vote for them. Justin offered anything and everything (ofc). The guy that has 0 clue of what he bought or how Steem works.
Roeland and GuiltyParties presented their arguments very carefully and precisely but the Korean community just wanted to know what they get.
What you give us???
This reminds me of the movie Idiocracy....
Roeland and GP taking time to determine what and how they can say something while the Koreans are being hostile towards their position of being pro-decentralization, and because them 2 are not able to provide answers instantly or make a call for thousands of people in the moment. .
Look. This was supposed to be an opportunity to determine HOW WE CAN WORK TOGETHER! The Koreans were supposed to use their "tie breaker" status to help bridge the gap between our two sides..
Instead, im sorry to say it... They decided to use this to see who can promise them the most.
Hello?!
JUSTIN can say anything he wants. He doesnt even understand the basics of STEEM. Roeland and GP cant say much since they cannot make a call for the whole DECENTRALIZED COMMUNITY!
Thats not how this works.
There is no choice here.... which is something the Koreans dont understand. If they choose to vote for Justin this chain is dead. NO ONE will bow down to him. The chain will split and everyone will dump.
We dont need a overlord making all our decisions.
The only smart thing to do was to USE THEIR POSITION to bridge the gap and vote for our witnesses so we can move forward and try to work with Justin.
All we got in the end was Koreans "selling their booty" to the best bidder.
Oh well.
If you could buy reason, there would be so much less idiots in the world.
Justin Sun: "it is not sock puppet. Lots of community vote voted for it."
I watched the chat, too and totally agree with you. I left thinking that @proxytoken should stay on Steemit with Justin and the rest of us should move on as quickly as we can.

Really doesnt matter at this time. Waiting to see if there are any other talks between Justin and witnesses.
MY hopes are low atm. He wants absolute control and wont take anything less.

I'm inclined to think this will end in another chain being created.
The Koreans are left with their chain to milk. It will be up to investors (=altcoin speculators) to decide how much that chain will be worth. Given enough time, that chain might get migrated to Tron but not many people will be on board.
The new chain with Steemit, Inc's stake cut out, will better adhere to the values of the blockchain movement. That chain will have all the apps backing it, except for maybe Steemhunt. It will survive as running the infrastucture is not that expensive. (For details: check this post out: https://steemit.com/steem/@aggroed/steem-is-dead-or-is-it) The price will depend on exchange relations. It will not be listed on Poloniex as long as Sun owns it. Huobi Global? Why not? Binance. Doubtful. KuCoin? Yes. Bittrex? Sure.

This is really disappointing, we should somehow talk to Korean community as well.

None of his sock puppet witnesses have more than 200 votes while non of our witnesses has less than 8000 votes.
Well, I have already started to power down.

Another whaleshares platform is on the way of making. (By removing downvotes).
The result of it (removing dv) is already there. Can't believe they are still not seeing that.

What is the result of removing flags?

Bidbots coming back in business.
Raping the reward pool.
Spam posts all over at Trending(Most of them) page.
Many spammers(who were raping the reward pool) will come back, who were not able to get much from reward pool.
Flag in check :
Original content creators getting rewards.
Misuse of SP is way less than before.
Spammers/misuse of the platform is being dealt with
I guess there is plenty other ex as well. Nevertheless, if we are talking about Whaleshares I am out of words tbh, do not wanna go there for the time being.

Oh, yeah, I thought we were talking about Whaleshares. I thought that was the example you were using. For the record, we removed flags and the scammers/spammers have pretty much dried up but that has more to do with tipping than the removal of flags.

Probably, but in my experience have been there and by going through Whaleshares (as a content creator) not the best place for many content creators. Besides some unfortunate circumstances are going on there I guess.
But honestly, if Tipping is the best-case scenario, then I guess owning a couple of 100ks of WLS and creating few other accounts and tipping thyself can be a nice way to get the best ROI and guess what, there is no way to stop that misuse of WLS power/Tipping whatever you call it as DV was removed.
Besides, steem Blockchain will face a much more critical situation if the DV is removed.(Like I explained above).
I am talking about the community and how removing DV can be used as an opportunity.

I see what you mean but that isn't how it works. I have several accounts, a few with over 100K but there is absolutely no point in tipping yourself because the tips come from your own stake reward. My main account, for instance, has 250K staked and I receive approx 320 WLS per day in stake rewards. I can put that directly into my stake or I can put it partly in and put the rest in my tip jar to use as rewards for content. It would actually be harder to write posts on another account and tip it. It has all but eliminated shit posts except for the people that are just there crossposting from Steemit or whatever other platforms they are on. I just don't reward those people for what they do.
Myself, I use all of my account rewards and my pods to tip others because I am banking on the price going up and my investment paying off that way instead of trying to hoard tokens. I have probably bought close to 500K at really cheap prices so even if nothing happens it still wasn't a huge waste and I really enjoy it there. If you don't like somebody's content you don't tip it and as they aren't rewarded, they go away and claim their daily reward in silence. Of course it's all an experiment but for me it is working well and giving me a chance to learn about people.

I guess my point still stands about misusing the current way if anybody wants to (& it was done and will be as well).
Not every user thinks about the community or others. WLS is still running for people like you. Keep it going prof! All the best.
