'Joe Biden will be the next president of the United States', Biden campaign manager says
"By this afternoon Biden will have leads in states that will put him ahead," Jen O'Malley Dillon said during an update on where the presidential race stands.
"We believe we are on a clear path to victory by this afternoon.
"We're on track to win in Michigan, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania, by more than Donald Trump did in 2016," she said.
She said she believed Biden had already won Wisconsin, and that she expected final results from Michigan today (local time).
The campaign manager also said she expected Nevada would tomorrow go to Biden, that the Democrats had flipped Arizona and that Pennsylvania would be finished counting votes by late Thursday.
She added: "We think it is possible [Biden] will go well beyond 270 electoral college votes.
"The first is Georgia, we expect these ballots to be counted today. North Carolina is a state that is really tight. We think it is currently leaning towards Trump right now and that we may have to [wait a few days for the results]."
Biden's campaign manager finished by saying: "If Donald Trump got his wish and we stopped counting votes right now, Joe Biden would be President of the United States."
