SEAPHOTOGRAPHY CONTEST - Sea and Fishes

Grunt Sculpin-1.jpg

Often a little shy, typically found on rocky reefs and hiding among the rocks. These cute little fish are often referred to as the cold water sea horse. They have no relation to sea horse at all but are a member of the sculpin family. Grunt Sculpins get their name due to the grunting sound they make as the hop or swim along the rocks.

They are wonderfully coloured and are easily approached by divers once you spot one. Take your time and set your shot. These little guys are slow moving so just be patient.

Good luck and happy diving!

Scott

I love your close-ups! The eyes are amazing - interesting colors!

I feel like purple in a background can make any foreground that much more colorful. Love the photo for sure.
