I am almost a month old, so much has happened in that month that I would never have expected. In this post I want to show you about where I live and work, and why I think Lanville is such a cool place to be.
Before I go into that I set up a facebook account and am now part of many Second Life groups. It is amazing, when you start talking to people about how many of them actually share your ideas. For example we hate trolls, we want nice places to live, nice friends etc.
I am quite lucky really where I have landed for the latter, needless to say at the moment we are not a full sim, but the residents I have met are really nice.
Lanville has a mixture of cottages, houses and apartments. Shops and restaurants also also widely available. Sadly at the moment their empty until they start filling up, which is one of the purposes I wanted to share this blog post. To show you this lovely little village, which is a great place to live, work and socialise.
Mr Stone the owner, tells me that any Sim he buys is always a Sim Edge sim, which gives us the added advantage of watching beautiful sunsets on evenings. Whilst I love the added advantage of flying and teleporting, its nice just to be able to walk around and see what a sim has to offer.
Not only have you the shops and housing available but its nice to walk around the beautiful landscaped gardens, and trees which are situated around the village. In around the village, there is plenty of communal sitting, where you can get a chance to catch up with the people who live in the village. Housing I find here there is something for everyone, whether you want something small and cozy, to something more modern an contemporary.
Many people that I have met have been in the SL world for a lot longer than I have, tastes are always changing, so big houses now seem to be out and smaller cheaper pads seem to be in. A sim to me needs to have something or enough things to keep you entertained, or you can get itchy feet. The other day I was by the road at the other side of Lanville, and every now and again a pod comes along.
The pod covers the whole northwest of Sim World where you can hop on, and for literally hours you can explore some of the other fantastic places there are to see. I actually ended up at a sim dedicated to the English Lake District, not to mention some villages which are owned and lived in by Linden Lab creators themselves. Saying that though, if you don't fancy a pod you can always hop on a go kart and go and have some fun exploring, just be sure you have your home landmarked so you don't get lost.
Of course if you just want to kick back and relax there are plenty of places that you can find to do that, I am fortunate where I live which is right next door to the pool, where I like to go for a morning swim before I start work.
But my ultimate of Lanville is the underground of it, I won't tell you where but if you can find a door leading to it, underground you will find Andromeda. Its very Star Trek Themed, and inside there is the Final Frontier Club, where you can dance the night away and check out the space beach.
Of course in the middle of dancing you can always kick back right underneath the dancefloor at the bar area, where there is a wonderful sweet selection too if that takes your fancy.
