Let's talk about my Job here at Second Life.

So let's talk a bit about my job here in Second Life!! I happened to come across a volunteer position, which asked for 1-2 hours a week, a good sense of humour and to be able to be relied upon. Being new in the world, I knew that SL had been around for a good while, so I decided to apply, uncertain if the ad was relatively new or had been around a good while.

Within 24 hours, I got a message asking if I could attend a meeting to discuss my application further. I was given a teleport link where I arrived at an office and met Evangeline De Joy, who is the HR manager for Evanstone Properties.

At this time, my avatar was not the best, I was wearing this demo blonde hair, and I was wearing some crazy outfit. I really felt out of place, given the fact of the area which is smart and stylish. Never the less, Evangeline (Eva) was really nice, we had a long chat and I filled in an application.

Eva my Manager

Very soon after I was accepted for the role of Community Aide Volunteer, in LanVille. The job is to help fill LanVille with residents, showing people the shops, the nightclubs, restaurants etc. I was told that for now the role is a volunteer role, with the intention to eventually move to a paid role, but first we need people and rents being paid, the empty shops needing to be filled.

Evanstone Enterprises is headed up by Evan and Lany Stone, who have a few different sims. There is also Galexia who heads up events, at the night clubs in the different sims. Eva who is head of HR and myself.

Very soon after the application was complete, Eva took me to an apartment block called Lanford. We got into the elevator and headed to the second floor, into Apartment 2.

Outside my apartment block

When we went inside Eva told me this was now my Apartment where I could live rent free due to being a volunteer. Oh god readers I was ecstatic, the balcony is huge, its really open and airy and so comfortable. Eva put my picture outside and marked the apartment as mine.

I have a sitting area, a bar, a beautiful reading room as I call it, a wonderful bedroom and the bathroom omg awesome. I was well impressed to get such an amazing place for being a volunteer.

Eva had to leave, but told me to have a look around LanVille for myself, to get familiar with the area. I found out my apartment is a 60 second walk to the office, virtually no commute at all.

In the next post, im going to show you around the community where I live, to give you a better idea of what LanVille is like. Until next time enjoy your day.

Have a great day.
