Why I have chosen to come off facebook.

Ok further to yesterdays update with what had happened in a particular sim, the outcome was... well I was banned for sure. Turns out my suspicions were correct, that the titler I was wearing and did not even think about removing, was the problem.

At the same time though, I stand my my original argument that why could they not have asked me to remove it, and I would have actually apologised and removed it with no problem. It would seem that London Soho Sim did not like that I went public about it on facebook rather than come to them for help. Which I did try but it seemed all communications were blocked in world, to be able to get in touch with them.

But some in facebook were not so friendly neither.

Yes indeed when it came to the proverbial fountain of knowledge facebook groups, and I had asked for help. The management of London Soho seemed fit to argue with me on the threat making wild accusations with no proof to support what they were saying. The laughable thing was which I actually take this as a compliment is im new to SL but someone who said in a comment today that looking at my appearance, they believe me to have actually been on a lot longer.

To which my reply was I did not care, but really im ever so glad because in 39 days if I have accomplished such an achievement, it goes to say that the same can be said for other people. But needless to say I am not the be all and end all of second life. I still probably have much more to learn, and will continue to do just that.

So seeing as some of the people see fit to have a go at me rather than either remain quiet or support me, I have chosen to take much of a step back of facebook groups. After all when I look at some of the SL groups on there, they are not too much to my liking, its all bento this and catwa that, does not really interest me. What does is places and people, not looks and appearances now I found my avi, maybe changing hair and eyes every now and then im pretty much good.

So yesterday I got a message.

A few days ago I posted on the forums that I am a male blogger and looking to promote content for SL either for pay or freebies. I got a message from someone in world called Nikolas Actor contacted me in world, said he was looking for volunteers to help out with his SL social network, onlinker.com.

Onlinker is just like facebook but its primarily made for SL which why its not being used as much as it should be is a mystery to me. I mean yes you have facebook but thats for RL, why do you want to mix RL and SL is beyond me. I am really impressed with what it has to offer, like facebook if onlinker were to be relied upon by word of mouth like facebook was, it will increase massively with subscribers.

I kind of feel bad though for Nikolas if he had made it a few years earlier before facebook, he could have been the next Zukerberg but SL wise, however I have offered my support to help him with a few things, for a could of hours a week, its not a big deal really but I like the project and I am happy to support it.

So as of now readers I will silently be withdrawing from facebook, whether I keep an SL presence there is to be considered but if you want to keep in touch with me, check out onlinker.com
