Beluga families travel hundreds of miles annually to spend time at their summer "playground"-a location where a river flows into the sea. Water temperatures are slightly warmer here and the gravel bottom serves as a natural loofah on which they rub to remove old skin. Beluga whales are highly social and have fascinating cultures and ancestral traditions.
