July 10, 2020--Practice Blog in the time of the virus

The day kind of flew by. We had breakfast late as I slept in. I practiced piano for a couple hours in the morning, then went to the church to practice organ for two hours. Taught a lesson to an older student and then ran to the store to buy hamburger buns. Got home and took the dogs out and came down to write this.

On the piano, I worked on a prelude and Postlude for Sunday. I will say, I am choosing really simple material for the Facebook Live and Radio broadcasts. Half the time, the tech team doesn't broadcast about half of the prelude, and the minister appears ready to slip out of the sanctuary as soon as he's done. Less work on my part. I also worked on some memory work on Liszt's Consolation No. 1 and the Valse Oublee. Finished with some slow practicing of the second movement of Beethoven Op. 101.

On the organ, I worked on the ninth movement of the Mass for the Convents by Francois Couperin. A recording is above. Also, I practiced BWV 637 which I hope to record tomorrow. Worked on a Kauffmann prelude and finished with slow practicing the last page of BWV 536.
