A Post-Quantum Crypto Tool

in security •  7 years ago

Hello Amigos,
We know the cryptoapocalypse is coming soon and all the standard asymmetric algorithms used today like RSA , El-Gamal and et cetera will be broken while the security of symmetric ciphers will be halved(i.e. AES-256 will provide a post-quantum security of AES-128).Data encrypted with even 4096-bit PGP key may become plaintext after 15-20 years. For long term security of your "TOP SECRET" data you will probably need this:

https://github.com/exaexa/codecrypt

It is a Post-Quantum crypto tool which uses Quasi Cyclic MDPC which is a variant of McEliece , A Post-Quantum algorithm, for Encryption and hash based Merkle tree algorithms for Signing. PQCRYPTO doesn't exactly recommend QC-MDPC as a Post- Quantum encryption algorithm but it states it as another interesting alternative to McEliece based on binary Goppa Codes which it recommends. QC-MDPC is resistant to Shor's algorithm and also fairly resistant to Grover's algorithm for large enough key sizes. It has not been broken since it was first introduced.

So what are you waiting for , go ahead and try it out but before using it to encrypt your sensitive data , research yourself a little bit .

This is Delta Spectre signing out.
Adios.
