Few Tips On How To Escape Hackers

Of recent there has being increased rate of social media account hacking, loss of money from one's bank account, often times its not as though that the hackers are professionals but because we neglect few simple things that should have helped us stay away from the reach of those hackers.

Well from little knowledge and being into some online platforms, these are few tips to help us.

  • 1 Avoid sites with only "http" at the beginning because 90% of those sites are not secured. You can check the difference between Https and Http online.
  • 2 When registering on a site don't use passwords that can be easily guessed from your name and email combinations. For example, your name is Gideon Nnakude and your password is Gideon11 or GideonNnakude, that can be easily guessed.
  • 3 When registering on a site, avoid using Password that is similar or the same as your email address password.
  • 4 Ensure your email address is linked to alternate email and phone number for recovering your passwords whenever you forget your password.
  • 5 When you login into your Facebook or email address on a person's phone or laptop, no matter how you trust the person, ensure you logout before returning the phone or laptop.
  • 6 Whenever your phone or laptop is stolen, try to immediately login into another device and change your passwords.
  • 7 Never send your credit or debit card details through Facebook because if the other person's account is hacked, you are at risk of loosing your cash. Send your card details through SMS and tell the person to delete the message off their phone once they are done with the transaction to be done with your card details.
  • 8 Don't have/use only one email to do everything online. Have an official email address you give to people for official reasons and have others you don't give out easily to people.

With these few tips, we can escape most hacking of our online accounts.

Always Check the URL and you are good to go. Recently, I also encountered with this kind of fraudulent thing, someone sent me Amazon's fake page with huge deals and then I realized that was a fake URL and I closed the page.
