Can you conceptualize today's invisible threats?

We live in wondrous and DANGEROUS times

Today we can hold an entire library in the palm of our hand. We can tell our friend a joke from the opposite side of the globe and see them laugh in real time. We can even have two people who do not speak the same language communicate verbally via digital translators, but the news is full of stories about digital theft, cyber-crime/warfare, corporate espionage and state sponsored hacking. No matter where you look, from ransomware to identity theft - the threat is on the rise across the board no matter how exciting the time.

Security requires comprehension of threat

Have you ever stopped to consider why these stories keep recurring? Tech is getting better, security is getting better.. so why is this mass mal-intent spread still happening? How is it happening?

In the below video I explain in as simple a manner as I can the how and why these stories are now so prevalent. As a good friend noted; I am bilingual in English. I make a living communicating business need into technical solution, and technical convolution back into comprehend-able decision points. I recorded the audio for this during a presentation to 44 of my competitors. The goal was to expose them to reality and challenge them to step up and address a serious hole in their common security posture. A few points from this video:

The best antivirus is only 45% effective at detecting new malware
Today's attacks DO NOT REQUIRE THE USER TO RESPOND OR CLICK ANYTHING
Of all malware in existence on December 31, 2015 - that is to say of all EVER created since the inception of computing till this date; 27% of those were created in the previous 365 days

Please, take a moment to review and let me know your thoughts. Feel free to fire off questions in the comments too.

Guys, tagging you here in hopes of getting a little help with upvotes. I'm new here. I checked the security tags for trending topics and do not see folks discussing the stuff I talk about here... though the world is getting slammed because folks don't comprehend this stuff. I try here to put the big picture into simple terms all can understand. Can you help me get this info in front of more people?
