Amazing Solar Farm

I ran across this solar farm the other day and was very impressed.

I've never seen a solar farm up close of this magnitude before.

Of course the first thing I thought about was taking some pics to show you guys so you could see what I see. Although I don't know how many panels are on the farm, I do know that it produces 1.2 megawatts of power and it sits on 6 acres of land!

Fun fact: Did you know that silver is used to make solar panels?

Thanks for taking a look and have a great day!

Where is it located ? (the solar farm )

Mt. Airy, N.C.

First of all I want to cease this opportunity to say thank you for believing in me here sir @bluelightbandit. Sometimes it not always easy but considering the glory that lies ahead one had to keep pushing. You are a source of inspiration to me here.

Alternative source of power is good and when it comes to the capacity of what i am seeing men! I term it great.

Please what the name of your pet? I love dogs but this time the smaller ones.

Thanks for sharing.

I am me @brightfame

I greatly appreciate your kind words as always! Getting started on here can be taxing at times, trust me. But I know that you will do well as time goes on. Just be patient as well as consistent and the rest will fall in to place. Check your wallet, I have given you a tip.

Wow! (With my eye wide open) this is great! I am ever grateful for this kind gesture sir. I am not going to stop pushing. Thank you for the encouragement.

You are highly appreciated.

I wonder how many houses that farm will keep lit? You are up early my friend. Have a great day! 🐓🐓

I was told that it would power about 100 houses and small businesses for several decades, but I can't confirm that.

Up early or late, ever how you want to look at it. Been up all night so it's about muh bedtime.

Just having some coffee myself, you must be having a har time sleeping. That is a lot of houses to power. I am glad to see more places using solar. Some builders here adding it to their new houses as an incentive to keep costs down. 🐓🐓

Yeah, I have a very jacked up sleep pattern, if you can even call it a pattern.

That has to be a lot of panels to produce 1.2 megawatts! Are they stationary or do they tip to follow the sun?

I have no idea if they move or not, that is an interesting question though!

Massive farm. I've often wondered about the efficiency levels as dust & dirt cover the panels, who is doing the cleaning. As we descend onto the Grand Solar Minimum, with solar irradiance decreasing, the efficiency of the world solar farms (panels) will decrease. During the last cold spell in Australia, which relies heavily on renewables, the stress on the electrical grid caused a spike, with power costing $14,000 per Mega-watt, needing fossil fueled power to get them through the power surge requirements.

I've never thought about that, great point!

There are robot cleaning system usually. @rollingthunder
If you try look some videos in YouTube ... you can see.

Cool... I think all farmers must have this :)

I think everyone should use them tbh. I would love to have them if they weren't so expensive.

Sure :) soon BTC go up and we all can buy it :)

Thank you for your continued support of SteemSilverGold

Yup its a large plant.. and the view definitely is pleasing. But you will be surprised to know that the world's largest solar plant is spread over 2500 acres of land, consisting of 2.5m solar panels, and is capable of supplying power to roughly 750,000 people!! Now that's some really impressive number..

And guess what, where is this largest plant located.. haha.. India!! (Kamuthi, Tamil Nadu to be more specific)

Thank you for your post!

You could make an interesting post about this gigantic solar farm in India.

That seems an interesting idea!
Sure I will do that soon.. thanks :)

That's a lot of panels!

Excellent solar farm.I don't see after it.

I know just ...silver is used to make solar panels

It used to take 1 ounce of silver per panels, but they have been reducing the mount of silver used per panels along with using other, more inexpensive metals in the manufacture process.

Have you ever want to join a solar farm? I have at Arcadia Power. I bought a few panels and they they take the cost off my energy bill each month. If you want to join to click on this link and save $5 of your next month bill for trying it out too.
