Self-Esteem & Perfectionism

in self-asteem •  7 years ago

Having slow self-esteem can really be a pain. I never give myself the credit I deserve because I always feel like there's more room for improvement. I'm so obsessed with the perfection in my work to that everything I do doesn't seem plausible. Although nothing is perfect, mistakes make me feel as if I can't do anything right. If I can gain the courage to accept that nothing in life is perfect, I believe I would be more content in life. I need to believe in myself more, because I've learned a lot about myself despite the failures I've went through. Not everyone can say they went to college, or even amount to the stuff I did. I'm better than I think I am despite what others say. their opinion shouldn't matter to me, because I'm in charge of the life I live. No one is going to stop me from pursuing my dreams. I will go to medical school, I will get my doctorate degree, and I will get my license to practice psychiatry. I will educate those who have minimum knowledge on what mental illness is. I will treat children, adolescents, and adults. It will be my duty as a doctor to help society as a whole, because I understand how hard it is to deal with mental illness. There are other options rather than doing drugs, alcohol, etc.
