Self-education is the only education.

Everyone tells you to go to school for 12 years and sit in a classroom and become prepared to go to college. After that they expect you to go to school for another 4 to 6 years. Yet why can we not just learn useful things in life?

I'm not saying the school is not important yet there are some classes were I think to myself should I drop out, like I actually feel my life being wasted.

Most people end up studying not because they want to study but because they think it is the only option. People think the harder they study the better grades they will get, yet it actually all depends on the subject. I have found myself studying for 6 hours night after night for one subject and then come test day I still fail, while in some subjects I don't even need to study because I love the subject so much and I get an A. It's not about how hard you study it's how passionately you study.

Many people end up in careers they do not like and which makes them miserable. On top of that, many people can never actually fully pay off their debt. Everyone knows that student loans are the biggest debt crisis in America. It is because people go to college having no idea what they want to do and end up with $250,000+ in debt with a degree they have no interest in having to work at a job they have no interest in working at.

It is because of this that I believe in self-education. I hated studying I really did. I would constantly put it off and just be like oh well. Yet now I am studying, except it does not feel like that. I am teaching myself how to do marketing and trade stocks, as well as long-term investments, even learning Spanish as well, all while having fun. I have learned more in the past year of my life than I ever did throughout the 11 years of school. I am also almost fluent in Spanish, which is surprising because since the 4th grade I have taken Spanish and could barely put a couple of sentences together.

In the end: No matter how young or old you are, no matter how much experience you have, just focus on bettering yourself and stop worrying about what society will think about you.
