View this post on Hive: On the pros and cons of self-tracking (first thoughts)

I've moved to Hive, along with most other people, following Justin Sun's takeover of Steem in the Spring of 2020. I believe hive is a lot more decentralised than Steem!

I used to obsessively track my running. (Well, before I had my current job I did a lot more running.) It was a lot of fun, but it also led me to push myself a little too hard. For some reason I settled on 10% distance increases each week, and wound up injuring my hip flexor. Then I had to scale way back and start over and went for 5% increases - and wound up doing it again. Now I just run once in a while when I feel like it and don't bother to record anything.

I definately push myself harder when I'm running with a tracking device.

I've come to this compromise now where I shove my tracker in my bag and just look at it post run... much more relaxing!

I quit all of my tracking because it diminished my flexibility for production. I found myself stuck in loops to reduce the recording costs, e.g., I would eat the same dinner daily to make recording my nutritional macros faster. (This didn't become a problem until I found myself making an extra trip to the grocery store for the purpose of homogenizing my diet.)

By the way, I very much like the figure. I might experiment with this the next time I prepare a presentation. Does this style of graphical organization have a name?

If you mean the mind map It's simple mind - about £5. Works on apple n android.

I've found my most productive work technique is just to binge... have 2-3 projects on the go and visit each of them at least once a week, but always have one that'd.the main focus...

In addition to a couple of hours a day or so on 'admin' - i.e. keeping up to speed with SEO/ updating/ responding to clients.
