There are an estimated 56.7 million Americans living with a disability, which means they have a physical or mental condition that limits their movements, their activities, or how they sense the world around them. That's around 19% of the U.S. population.

In 2015 , the DOJ reported that people with disabilities suffer violent victimizations at a rate of 295 per 1,000 people, which is 2.5 times more than people without disabilities. It's estimated that 1 in 5 of these victims is targeted because of their disability.

Sadly, there aren't many programs that seek to promote prevention of victimization for those with disabilities or teach self defense. For that reason Ammo.com has created a guide that goes over some of the basics of self defense and concealed carry for people with disabilities.
