Day 2 Challenge:

During your prayer/meditation, concentrate on one person you love and send them 5 minutes of blessings focused on them. Challenge 2 BALM copy.jpeg
This is helpful for religious, non-religious, spiritual, and non-spiritual alike. We all need a minute to decompress. Instead of spending that time numbing your mind with all of our wonderful distractions at our fingertips, taking the time to pray or meditate does wonders to boost our mood. Jeena Cho, contributor to Forbes Magazine says that Compuware Corporation found “practice produced increases over time in daily experiences of positive emotions” in their employees.

Wait. I thought the focus was actions of love. YES. The happier you are, the more inclined you are to default to love. “Researchers found that having people pray for those in need reduced the amount of aggression they expressed following an anger-inducing experience,” writes Clay Routledge PhD in Psychology Today. So, why not have that person in need to someone you love dearly? It’s easier to focus on someone you personally know and love. You already have an energy connected to them. Strengthen it with blessings.

During your prayer focus on one person you love and send them 5 minutes of blessings (this doesn’t have to filled with benefits for them, even just holding happy thoughts of/for them will work). This will feel better than the normal quick shout-out because the more concentrated energy you spend on this person, the more you will feel love for them and most likely, within a couple days, they will feel your blessings too. Hey, it’s worth the experiment for someone you love. And, “people who pray and meditate trend to be statistically more healthy,” says Richard Schiffman of Huffington Post. Who really wants to turn that opportunity down? For challenge number 2, you can also do this just today or continue to do so for the rest of the 29 days.
