The way we take care of our bodies can say a lot about us. In a world filled with myriad fast food options, endless TV shows, and comfort lurking around every corner, spending time exercising and eating healthy is a conscious choice that can go against what many marketers may not want. Whether it's yoga, lifting weights, biking, or simply taking a walk, the practice of moving can increase longevity, prevent muscular atrophy, and raise your mood. The same is true with eating a balanced diet, which can lead to more energy, healthier cells, and ward off disease. If you did both of these things everyday for a year, your body would undoubtedly be in much better shape than when you started.
Now imagine if you did the same for your mind.
Imagine if you spent time everyday for a year pausing to notice the things that brought you alive. Pausing to reflect on what you're grateful for. Pausing to spend time working through your self-doubt, your fear, and whatever anxieties may arise. 365 days of this. Daily, healing, strengthening work. Our brain is the strongest muscle in our bodies. You owe it to yourself to treat it as such.
"A Single Seed" is my attempt to get out one idea every day that I've learned or accumulated over the years, with the hope that it may stick in someone else's memory bank as well. The idea may be related to fitness, business, life, or philosophy, but I think you'll find that many can change domains if you wish them to. With each seed planted, a new life awaits.
