Romantic thinking.

I take time to talk about something that I identify with a lot, not because I think it embodies what the title refers to, but because of the circumstances in which this kind of romantic or poetic spirit appears in moments of life marked by some experience particular.

Being romantic has nothing to do with being "telenovelero," "syrupy," sentimental or deluded. Nor does it have to do directly with the phenomenon of couple's love, falling in love or attraction. Not at least as it could be understood today, with so much radio, television, or musical product of chicha cut, sensual and short veins. This is not romanticism. It is irrationality or sentimentality, analogous in another sense to what is experienced in a Peruvian "combi", in a noisy nightclub, or to what is beginning to be observed in the "Emo" phenomenon in its most extreme degrees.

Romanticism rebels against exacerbated reason and totalitarian science but it does so from a sincere search for freedom based on the knowledge of the historical, original roots that every community or person has. We ever read it The German romanticism of the nineteenth century was extremely rich and powerful. Certainly, he always accentuated and accentuated a psychological vision of life, very introspective, attentive to the inner movements of the soul, which can be deceptive if it is assumed as radical and absolute posture.

In fact, another way of rebelling against science and rationalism could be to assume a spiritual, religious, metaphysical stance of life that goes beyond the tangible and poses a path of transcendence for the human being. Romanticism is not at all opposed to a spiritual vision of life, but it does not necessarily assume or precede it; I think he pursues it without reaching it, and touches it without realizing it, unless he voluntarily wants to do it.

That is why there is a very beautiful or profound mystical or spiritual poetry, just as passionate and melodic as a purely romantic poetry that does not take into account the transcendent dimension of the human being. And in turn, there are romantic writers and non-believing poets of clear depth who "touch" the spiritual or the mystical expressing how close they are or want to be of such an experience.
