Fifteen years later
And the images are still there
Forever etched in memories.
Nearly three thousand lives
Fall like those 110 story buildings
We once believed were
Indestructible.
A plane goes down
In a Pennsylvania field
Brought down by the passengers
Who risked their lives to save
Thousands of others.
The plane hijacked and headed
To Washington D.C but these
Heroes made sure that
Did not happen.
The Pentagon hit
Hundreds died
Lives lost.
Just another Tuesday
But it wasn't.
Fifteen years later
And still it feels like
Yesterday
Terror struck us
In a very real way.

Karla Dorman this was impart inspired by your thoughts earlier...
Powerful and yes even after all this time it is still like it was yesterday

We can't nor should we because when we start forgetting is when the door opens for history to repeat itself

So tragic no matter how it went down.
My Mom phoned me to turn on the TV and we talked as I watch birds flying gracefully from the building and then the 2nd plane hit and we found out those were people who chose to jump. OMG. Diane Sawyer was covering the event forever etched in my memory

I agree completely, I remember Nonna calling as well as Aunt Linda, and having to explain to the kids I was watching what happened, many schools closed for the day!
