Midnight Palace is the English translation of this architectural gem. Located in Piazza Affari ("Business Square"), it is the seat of the Italian stock exchange and that's why its also known as Palazzo Delle Borse ("Stock Exchange Palace").

Architect Paolo Mezzanotte mixed Neoclassicism and 20th-century architecture to design the most technologically advanced building in Italy for its time. The ruins of a Roman theatre were discovered during the excavations so the construction was delayed but finally completed in 1932.

In this photo, you can see its monumental 36 m high facade. Built with marble and travertine and decorated with sculptures by Leone Lodi and Geminiano Cibau.

In front of the building, obviously, there is a big fist with only one finger raised. Well, that's Il Dito! ("The Finger"). The work of Italian artist Maurizio Cattelan who called it L.O.V.E. "freedom, hate, revenge, eternity" ("libertà, odio, vendetta, eternita").

The finger is the most extraordinary, the most controversial and perhaps the most unusual monument in Milan. All fingers, except for a raised medium, are chopped off. Along with the finger, the questions are raised.

What is, in your opinion, the meaning of this?
